Drill #26 - Black Ball Drill, Level A

This drill somewhat mimics making a long break in Snooker, where the black ball is pocketed in succession with several red balls. For this drill, we’ll use the 8 ball to stand in as the black ball.

Use the table diagram to place the balls on the table. I use Hole Reinforcement labels to help me to spot the balls. You can purchase them off of Amazon here.

Shoot the 8 ball first, and then again after each object ball. Shoot the 8 ball in either corner pocket and then re-place the 8 ball on its spot. Then shoot any of the object balls on the table, but make sure to leave the cue ball in a spot where you can make the 8 ball again. Repeat this until you have shot all four object balls and finish with the 8 ball.

A passing score for this drill is shooting all four object balls as well ast the 8 ball after each shot. For this level of the black ball drill, that means you will shoot a total of 17 shots.
